Mariemont

Mariemont

History/Population
The Village was incorporated on July 12, 1941. Mariemont has approximately 3,000 residents.

Community
Mariemont is distinguished from similar communities by a unique electoral process called Town Meeting. Town Meeting is a unique nonpartisan system through which nominations for Village offices are made. To be a part of Town Meeting, you need only be a resident of voting age. Complete with the colorful and historically dressed Town Crier, Mariemont Town Meeting has meetings whenever appropriate, including a state of the Village meeting annually.

Living in Mariemont
Mariemont is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2007. Information about the Villages unique history is available through the Mariemont Preservation Foundation.

In 2008, Mariemont was named a “Top 10 Great Neighborhood in America” by The American Planning Association. Learn more about this award here.

For nearly 20 years, Mariemont has also been recognized as a “Tree City USA” community. This program, sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters, recognizes communities with progressive forestry programs (i.e. lots of great looking trees)!
