Madisonville is located off I-71 and approximately ten minutes away from Downtown Cincinnati. Established in 1809 and named after our 4th President, James Madison, the name was officially changed to Madisonville in 1826 to avoid duplication with another Madison, Ohio. Diverse and stable the community offers professionals, singles and families affordable housing. Residents enjoy the Madisonville Recreation Center which offers ball fields, a fitness center and swimming pools. Community performing arts and education are showcased at the Madisonville Arts and Cultural Center. A community council meets monthly and encourages involvement by those who would like to work to maintain high standards for health, housing, education, recreation, public safety and the general welfare of Madisonville.
